Well, if you are looking at this website, you know what has happened. The end of an era is upon us. The long standing drinking establishment last known as Alcatraz, and fondly known to others as Quarters, is now truly a thing of the past. Although it has been shut down since November 23, 2003, it has lingered there on west Lane Ave. as a haven for the local bums to seek shelter from the cold Columbus winter. But, sadly enough for the former patrons of this establishment, and much to the dismay of the local bums, on Feb. 6, 2004 the City of Columbus finally made good on their long standing claim that they were actually going to tear the place down. And tear it down they did. I was there, I saw it. It's true.
Yes, you may remember this place from even before it was Alcatraz or Quarters. If you are old enough, you may remember the Jailhouse. Or, if you are my age, you may have piched back a few cold ones at Jousters once upon a time. For the truly aged individual, why you may remember the good old Thirsty Eye. Whatever you prefer to remember it by, if you are here looking at this page you probably remember plenty of other things. Debauchary comes to mind. Looking at tits, drinking beer, watching chicks make out, doing shots (flaming moes, 25 cent kamikazis, car bombs, mongoose, snakebites, and many more with names I can't remember), hanging out with Ron Jeremy talking shop with porn actors, hanging out with strippers, getting laid, not getting laid, watching Meister get laid, wet t shirt contests-these are the things that people remember about this place.
What has been assembled here is documented evidence of said demolition. Several pictures of the carnage, as well as a video of some of the highlights. The video is several clips put together, and it is sped up so as to cut the file size in half. Available in Windows Media and Real format, choose your poision.
